Arctic Monkeys New Album - AM

Okay, I don't study music but I know something good when I hear it.

Holy Fudge, this album has just been on repeat 24/7
I think I am addicted, the other night I stayed up till 12.30 (which is late for me) because I couldn't stop listening to this album.

1. Do I wanna know?
2. R U mine?
3. One for the road
4. Arabella
5. I want it all
6. No.1 party anthem
7. Mad sounds
8. Fireside
9. Why'd you only call me when you're high?
10. Snap out of it
11. Knee Socks
12. I wanna be yours

So basically song 1-12 is perfect. I love all of them, like usually there's one or two songs I am not too keen on, on an album. But they are all good, real good. There are a lot of rhetorical questions in the song list, like more than usual (I just noticed this.) My favourite one for lyrics is probably I wanna be yours. like as if

I wanna be your vacuum cleaner
Breathing in your dust
I wanna be your Ford Cortina
I won’t ever rust
If you like your coffee hot

Let me be your coffee pot

Aren't the best lyrics you've ever heard?
I also love R U Mine? that's perf too.
they all are. This review isn't too helpful, but that's because this album is too great for words.

Arctic Monkeys you've done it again, congratulations on being too perfect for your own good.

I also recently did another photo series -it's gifs actually, I make gifs now haha- to this album, it's basically what inspired me, check it out on my photo blog.

September Favorites

 Time for September favourites!

But first of all, what the fudge?! it's September, this year has gone so quickly, I still say 2012 when people ask me what year it is.

First on my reasonably short list is Bourgeois Healthy Mix Serum, I wanted to go for something really sheer, because it's hot here in Australia, like real hot.

I was put on to this by Essie Button, who has been raving about this for a while now. So while I was in my local Priceline I was stocking up on products and decided to buy this.
Notice the berries on the packaging? Yep, that's what this foundation smells like, it smells healthy. My skin has been better. In the afternoon when your skin begins to wear down and produce oil, this foundation doesn't wear off, it becomes dewy and I quite like how it looks when this happens. I am wearing it in the selfie up top.

Numero Deux is Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liquid Eyeliner. This doesn't smudge, I have never had an eyeliner that doesn't smudge. My eyelids are supa supa oily, like holy crap I could probably deep fry some chips in the amount of oil my eyelids have (too descriptive..?)
My only fault is that the brush just gets eyeliner all over my eyelashes,
bearing in mind that I have naturally very long eyelashes, so it has always been difficult for me not to get it on my eyelashes. The eyeliner itself though is reasonably glossy and I do enjoy it quite a bit.

Third is another Maybelline product and it's the Maybelline Lip Liner in No. 20 Nude. When I first put this on I always get a little concerned that it is too brown to be natural, but after a couple of minutes it like blends itself with your natural colouring and becomes a really lovely colour. It lasts quite a while, I would apply a small amount of lip conditioner before hand though, I use Avon Anew Lip Conditioner.

My last Product is Stila's Metallic Eye Foils which came out this month. I wore this to my year 12 Formal. I won't do a review here though, I am going to post a separate review in a while.

Sorry for not posting for a while, my posts are going to be sparse for the next few months as I am doing my final exams for high school! I graduated last month and now I have my study break for my up coming exams, then I am done! Forever!!

Stay tuned xx

VSCO cam review

If any of you know me, you'll know that I am very into photography. Oh my golly gosh have I found a gem for you.

Whether you are a professional photographer or an amateur photographer - I highly recommend vscocam.

Think Instagram- but good.

vscocam is thoughtfully designed, quality considerate and gentle on the actual photos. With their filters such as B1, B2, F2, M5 etc. you can edit your photos (like instagram) with out them looking sickly with tacky orange or purple hues. The people on vscocam are also considerably... classier. The photos are generally thought out and aren't just some girl's bitchin' sandwich or some douche's car.

When you sign up you are given a domain to your vsco grid, your vsco grid is like a tumblr page or a gallery. You can selectively upload your photos that you have edited onto a simplistic layout. So far that I know, you cannot edit the layout. However I like this as it stops the over the top backgrounds and horrid personalisations that people insist upon apply to pages. The simple white layout clearly mimics a portfolio or gallery which compliments photos so well.

I don't know how vscocam does it but it makes the iphone camera appear to be of a considerably high quality- which I have such a good time with. Because I always find buildings and objects that I want to capture but I don't have my chunky ass canon on me. Now I can capture them anytime anywhere.

Ten outta ten.
Well done vscocam

How to - 6 Steps To Red Lips That Last All Day

                                                                                                 1. Start by applying the concealer with the brush to selected spots and blemishes, I like to do oversized freckles and around the lip line, just so it is more defined.

Apply the concealer to the back of the hand
to warm the product up for a more even spread/coverage.

2. Blend the concealer with a dabbing motion of your finger, I like to use the Expert Face Brush after I've blended, just to create a smoother coverage. After use the powder puff that comes with your powder and in a light pressing motion go over the concealer in order to set it. Then take your Topshop Shimmer highlighter and run it over your bottom lip to                  create a fuller look. With your glow pot; you apply this to your chin and cupids bow.

3. Lightly pull up your lip when you use your lip liner- this makes your lips naturally non-freakly bigger. Go on to colour in your entire lip

4. Now we go onto the lipstick. Apply it to the middle of your lips and with the lip brush spread the lipstick over your lips. By using the brush you get a cleaner line and don't apply too much; that makes it set quicker and last longer.

5. With the Face/Body brush with  hardly any powder lightly brush it over your lips- to set the lipstick.

If you want a matte look you can stop here, it is very vamp and lasts for aggeess... orrr..

6. If you want a glossy lip apply the lipgloss, this one doesn't last as long but it looks super glamorous and it's really bright.

My Good and Bad Buys of the Week #1

This week I have done bit of a collective haul from several places, not all of them good.

Maybelline Colour Whisper

Yep, it is just as good as the others. The colour sort of reminds me of when you wear a red lipstick and then you wipe it off and it has stained your lips, which I love the look of. I wore this to a music night with a purple liner and thick eyelashes and it just looked super vamp; it was great. This isn't an effort to match with other colours, it is just an easy product to work with.

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

I am a bit late to jump on this wagon but oh my golly gosh!
This smells absolutely amazing, it's lime with crushed brown sugar, almond oil and macadamia grains. I cannot get over how good this smells. It is difficult to come across Soap and Glory in Australia, the only place I know of that sells Soap and Glory is Kit Cosmetics. My closest counter is an hour bus ride into the City to get to Myers so naturally I don't get to experience these things on hand very often. I do most my makeup shopping online so I was a little cynical about it at first, I had read lots of reviews and always thought there was a bit of exaggeration in the description of how good this is. But it's not an exaggeration, this is the best smelling product I have ever come across, and that includes all the Body Shop products. It was slightly awkward to use, I feel that I have to use quite a bit to get as it doesn't really foam up or spread well.

Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer 001

My first impression of this primer was pretty good, it made my skin super smooth with a lovely matte finish, I also found it very moisturising. I used this first for a 3 hour music night, which I mentioned previously and it made my foundation (Rimmel Wake Me Up and Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation) look rather nice. However it doesn't prolong the wear of my foundation, in fact I would say it might even shorten the life of my foundation. I would maybe use this again for a short date or going out for dinner, but for school or work life I would turn to other products. I was rather disappointed because I have heard such good things about the Revlon PhotoReady Foundation and I love the translucent powder from the same range, but this is just a bit of a fail for Revlon.
I will add that I like the packaging, the pump is very handy feature, I apply it with a small sponge so it is easy to get the right amount. It's a little too big for my drawer where I keep all my makeup- but that isn't something I can really complain about as that isn't Revlon's fault.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo - 60 Silver Strike

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Metal - 60 Silver Strike

After I saw the makeup look of the Prada Summer/Spring 2011 with the super metallic eyes I set out to find a high shimmer, ultimate metallic eye colour- and this is what I found.

Prada S/S 2011
I love this eye colour, it can be used as a base however I use it as an all over. I occasionally pair it with my Urban Decay Virgin or Sin, or my Sleek Palette iStorm (The shadows don't have individual names, so either the pale gold or the pink champagne colour.) I apply it with a flat brush so I can really build on it, a heavy black liner is great too, as it adds a little bit of grunge. It really lasts all day and it is super waterproof - which makes it slightly difficult to remove. I am so keen to try other colours such as Too Cool, Bad to the Bronze, Pomegranate Punk, Painted Purple and Edgey Emerald... I basically want all of them.

The Formula is very thick. The Maybelline website describes it as a cream gel, however I do not find this gel like at all, I would describe it as a thick smooth cream? The shimmer quality is super high as well, it is definitely the shimmeriest eye product I own. I really do recommend these I just find them so so great, they are suitable for every occasion, you can wear it really light for a natural day wear, have it as a base for a more formal look or pile it on for going out at night.
